For Harvard students and teams wanting to test and refine their ideas and ventures, i-lab programming includes a number of resources that place students in less structured environments in order to ‘learn by doing’.
CommonLit is a reading resource for teachers that provides a free, online library of high-quality short texts selected to stimulate thought and discussion. Each text is organized by theme, assigned a Lexile level, and carefully chosen to engage students of any reading level. CommonLit challenges the status quo by eliminating barriers that often impede middle school teachers from obtaining access to supplemental materials that align to curricula, and still allow them to retain autonomy over instructional decisions. It is a valuable resource for lesson planning and gives teachers options to select what is appropriate for their classrooms and students.
